I want to tell you about this restaurant so badly I can't type quick enough. So excuse the typos they're going to happen. It's called Gessler at Daquise in South Kensington. It's Polish, it's unpretentious (regardless of the postcode) and it's so freaking delicious you'd give up your grandma to get your hands on some of their recipes.
There is something about this place that is so cool. It could be the gorgeously eccentric waiters with their bow ties or the way they bring the food to you in the pots and pans they are made in or the finger print smudges on the menus I don't know, but it's charm has secured a lovely little place in my heart and my waistline come to think of it? Never mind ...
My friend Anna's who found this little gem has a few hot tips are: Order the Pierogi you will have to wait but just do as your told. Follow that up with the beef roulade or the stuffed cabbage leaves and make sure you get your hands on every side dish you possibly can. Beetroot, creamed spinach, buckwheat the lot!!!
Well, go on get moving.
